Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data (e.g. a name, photographs, videos, email address or postal address).  Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in New Roots possession or likely to come into such possession. We are New Roots CLT Ltd, is a Charitable Community Land Trust registered in England with the Financial Conduct Authority with registered office is at 23 Moor Place, Newcastle, NE3 4Al. We operate the Website and we are the data controller for the purposes of the Act.   It is your right to contact us to find out what personal information we hold on you. How do we process your personal data?

New Roots CLT complies with its obligations under the ‘GDPR’ by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

We use your personal data for the following purposes: –

  • To administer membership records
  • To enable you to volunteer
  • To enable you to express an interest in our community share issue(s)
  • To fundraise in other ways including seeking donations
  • To inform you of news, events, activities and meetings
  • To enable you to register an interest in becoming a resident
  • To promote the charitable and community benefit interests of New Roots CLT to see more affordable, more sustainable homes being created rooted in local communities across the North of Tyne. 

On-line forms

In general, we will collect the information we need to provide you with the service to which the form relates.  

If we ask for further personal information, such as a phone number or address, we do so in order for us  to provide the best possible service for example by being able to contact you by phone or by mail where necessary.  We will not ask for information that is not relevant to helping us meet the purposes for which the data is held.

Mailing Lists

We will keep you on our mailing lists until you ask us not to contact you further. Our e-newsletters will always include an unsubscribe button, should you decide you want to stop receiving updates from us.

Sharing your personal data

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with other officers of New Roots CLT in order to carry out a service connected with New Roots CLT. We will only share your data with third parties outside of New Roots CLT with your consent.

How we keep your data secure

Only authorised officers of New Roots CLT have access to your information.  We will keep your information secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage. 

How long will New Roots CLT keep your information

We will keep your details on record for as long as it is necessary for the relevant purpose, and where appropriate where this is period is determined by applicable legislation, regulations and best practice.
